let's have a talk about nsfw content on deviantart

this is specifically aimed at my fellow 18+ year olds here on these deviantarts
I turned 18 a while back and this is something that's been bugging me for a long time that i feel i can finally address: adults on deviantart making sexual and graphic gestures towards minors as well as untagged sexual content.
Deviantart is a place for all ages and I've been on this website for about 8-9 years now and I've had my fair share of run-ins with creepy adults and the like, and I believe everyone here has run into those really weird pictures of inflation fetishes and severely bloated cartoon characters that miraculously end up of the front page. This is the internet and the first time as a kid when I stepped onto here, my parents warned me about strange people out there. Especially on an art site this can be expected.
I generally keep to the furry section of DA - deviantart's a pretty big place and I've surrounded myself in a community that pertains to my interest. The furry community is a really big one, and diverse at that - there are many people of varying ages here. Generally deviantart's furry community is a younger audience as apposed to furaffinity where the audience is primarily adults. I don't think it's too far off the mark to say that the furry community here is much around the age of 14 and there's a great number of 12 year olds and younger on here - I made my first deviantart account when i was 9 or 10. The furry community here is probably 80% minors. 
The graphic here is aimed at anyone, but it shouldn't be neglected how many children are here! And yet many adults here will still go as far to make sexual comments towards them or post unfiltered explicit artwork. It's not only inconsiderate, but borders the line of pedophilic. If you're a minor, this is less aimed towards you, but I'd still pay attention, especially if you are an older minor (16,17).

I remember being little (really little) and playing an online game once and someone had made a room filled with highly suggestive, nearly pornographic images, which by the way was against game rules - little me had no idea what was going on really, just that there were people everywhere naked and a lot of words I didn't understand at all. My mom proceeded to walk into the room at that point and see what was on the screen, and she screamed at me, asking what on earth I was looking at, how I got there. I proceeded to be grounded and banned from that game and received a massive lecture for supposedly looking at porn. I literally had no idea what porn even was. I just wanted to play jazz jackrabbit 2 online through my dial up connection.

Anywho, the point is, it's literally against DA rules (Also the law) to place minors in a sexual situation, and yet people on here are more than often posting very sexual images untagged, or making descriptions which can't even be filtered describing how much your OC loves to choke on dicks. I've had too many people, in public on my page, make sexual comments at me because maybe they saw me post something borderline sexual to my friends and they think they can then do it. If you wouldn't go up to a bunch of strangers on the street and ask to fuck someone you don't even know it the ass, why would you go up to me, a minor at the time, and imply you would like to do that to me? It's creepy, illegal, not to mention pedophilic. Just because you are safely tucked behind a computer screen miles away from me doesn't make it any more okay. Not to mention that if I am a stranger whom you know nothing about, you may be completely aware that I am mentally unsound as well as a sexual abuse survivor, and comment like that can seriously set me off.

Of course, maybe some of my fellow 18+ deviantarters are now scoffing and gesturing at their freedoms of speech and how this is the internet and they can say what they want, and if this is a website for all ages, then they should be able to market what they want to other people their age. My answer to that is: Other websites Exist!!! This isn't the only website where you can share your pornographic art and commentary. Furaffinity exists, tumblr exists, literally so many other websites marketed to people Your Age exist. Why are you trying to force children out of a space that is also marketed to them? Are you that big of an ass, or do you just like to walk around with a big sign that reads "I don't care if I'm marked as a pedophile or if I hurt children or sexual abuse survivors in a place that is supposed to be safe for them" plastered to your forehead? Go to another website, please! I'm sure an audience of furry porn appreciators will get a great better kick out of your art than a crowd of little kids and young teens. If you absolutely must stay here, then for god's sake, please tag you artwork, place a filter and write a warning! I get that not everyone likes children but at this point all you are being is a massive asswipe if you're going to wave your character's ten inch dick in a child's face. I'm serious, if I just describes you, you have a healthy amount of growing up to do and should maybe go chill on neopets for a bit to practice your filtering skills.

Another common thing I see on here is the mentioning of lolis and shotas..... term literally translated as being child (child as in underage, a minor, infantile) porn. Child porn. No, these terms are not substituted with 'a baby faced person who is so cute they could look like a child' it literally refers to child porn. By using these terms, shota and loli, you're literally associating yourself while pedophiles - yes, people who get their kicks from young children. That's literally what you're describing every time you use these terms, and the more people try to justify it the more disgusting it gets - please don't sexualize children. If I need to explain why this is bad then I implore you to take a break from deviantart ( a website filled with Children) to go to some research and reflect on your choices and opinions. 

Not everyone likes children, I get it - even just minors not everyone likes, but if you're at the point where you feel no remorse for shoving your sexual trills and thrills down a child's throat, then you seriously, seriously need to reevaluate your life at this point and find another website to talk about how much you love sex and dicks. Please be considerate to the community of children around you.

tldr; filter your explicit art and commentary, and if you can;t find yourself willing to do that, please find a different website to post on!
